More than 1.5 million children in Nigeria are expected to benefit from a new multi-sectoral collaboration aimed at preventing childhood blindness and visual impairment. Activities during the 3-year program include the training of community and health workers, treatment funding and provision of glasses and low vision devices.
The program is sponsored by Seeing is Believing (a collaboration between Standard Chartered and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness – IAPB) and implementation is led by Christian Blind Mission UK (CBM), working in coalition with the Brien Holden Vision Institute.
