The WSD celebration spanned over Wednesday 9th to Friday 13th October, 2017.
Public awareness lecture series focusing on Diabetes Mellitus, its Management, Ocular complications as well as its economic burden were delivered at the Sickle Cell Centre, Idi- Araba , Lagos, on 11th Oct., 2107.
Eye health talk programmes held in many Radio and Television Stations across Lagos State, throughout the week.
Eye examinations were conducted on the WSD, 12th October 2017, at Campos Square, Lagos Island, in which about 500 people were screened, over 300 received corrective spectacles, over 100 treated free for minor Ocular ailments and a few others referred for further evaluation and treatment.
A number of our corporate sponsors facilitated the events by making monetary and material donations. The list includes Norvatis, Precious Sight Foundation, Alpha Pharmacy, Dortemag ventures and Micronova Pharmacy. The Lagos State Ministry of Health and The Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) also offered Logistic and personnel supports.
